- Every society has warriors who defend its territory and honor of their people. This portrait depicts a typical traditional Eritrean warrior wearing a beautiful Dino and armed with a spear and a shield. Shields were commonly made of leather. As can be seen, the shields had thick rims to prevent a spear or blade from sliding off it and deflecting onto the warrior’s body.
